    Large listed companies reported first, publishing in 2025. Their supplier data requests have been arriving in inboxes ever since.

  2. FY 2027The next wave

    Companies with over 1,000 employees and €450 million turnover report next, publishing from 2028. They are collecting value-chain data from their suppliers now, not in 2028.

  3. TodayVSME: one answer for everything

    For everyone else, the EU-recommended VSME standard is both the format and the legal ceiling: customers may not demand more than it contains. One VSME report answers every questionnaire.

Does the CSRD apply to my company?

Directly, only if you are large: since the EU's 2026 simplification, mandatory CSRD reporting applies to undertakings with more than 1,000 employees and over €450 million in net turnover, plus non-EU groups with €450 million turnover in the EU. Indirectly, it reaches almost everyone who supplies them: reporting companies must account for their value chain, so the questionnaires keep coming regardless of your size. The voluntary VSME standard is the EU-recommended way to answer them, and it legally caps what customers may ask of you. We will give you a clear answer on where you stand in a 30-minute call.

When does the CSRD come into effect?

It already has, in phases, and the phases changed in 2026. The largest listed companies reported on financial year 2024. The EU then postponed and narrowed the remaining waves: companies still in scope (over 1,000 employees and €450 million net turnover) report on financial year 2027, publishing in 2028, while listed SMEs were removed from mandatory scope entirely. For everyone else, the voluntary VSME standard has become the practical baseline, driven by customer and bank requests rather than regulation.

What exactly do I need to give you?

For the gap analysis, we need your current sustainability report and your choice of framework (ESRS or VSME; we advise if you are unsure). For gap closing or a report written from scratch, we ask you to complete a questionnaire on your company's structure and to share the relevant internal documentation, such as policies, HR overviews, energy invoices and certificates, through our secure, read-only client portal. We handle the rest.

We have never written a sustainability report. Can you start from nothing?

Yes. That is our third service. The questionnaire establishes which disclosures apply to your company, and your internal documentation provides the source material. We extract the data, write every disclosure in plain language, verify each fact with you, and deliver a fully designed report in PDF, Word and web formats. Most first-time reports are delivered within weeks.

We are an SME. Is voluntary reporting worth it?

Increasingly, yes. Listed customers need your data for their own reports, buyers screen suppliers on ESG performance, and the voluntary VSME standard gives you a proportionate, recognised format. A gap analysis of the report you already have, or a first VSME report written from scratch, shows exactly where you stand before you commit to anything larger.

Is our data safe with an AI platform?

Documents are processed read-only in isolated, encrypted, EU-hosted environments, with no persistence beyond the analysis session. Our retrieval-based architecture grounds every finding in your actual documents and links it to source evidence, so no figure is ever generated without support. Reviewers receive citations, confidence scores and a complete evidence trail.

What does it cost, and how long does it take?

The fee is flat and public: €5,000 per engagement, whichever service you need and whichever framework applies. It covers everything, from the gap analysis through evidence matching to the designed report. Delivery takes at most two weeks from the moment we receive your documents.
